The young filly pranced about in circles around her best friend. They were now in seperate stalls, but still had pasture time together. The black filly snorted and playfully nipped at the painted one who whinnied and nipped back. The sun was just above the horizon, sending warm orange and yellow glows over the fields. Lacey had just finished her evening grain and was busy playing with Mia, her Thoroughbred cross friend. They were now muscled and strong with distinguished personalities, likes, and dislikes. For example, Lacey now couldn't stand the thought of being cross tied. It was just... beyond herself to think of being tied up like that. It's not like she was going to go anywhere! But the fillies hadn't seen "their" human yet that day, and were getting antsy about it.

Aly smiled as she entered te private barn. Seeing that only Emmy was in her stall, she knew Mia and Lacey ad been out in the pasture. Aly opened up Emmy's stall door and haltered the chestnut Hanoverian mare and lead her outside. Smiling as Aly spotted te paint filly and blakc filly, Aly headed over with Emmy. Letting Emmy loose in the pasture next to Mia's and Lacey's, Aly locked the gate and walked over to the yearlings pasture. Smiling at the fillies Aly whistled. Standing with a lead rope in her hand, she waited for the fillies to come up to her. Unlocking the gate and entering the pasture, Aly whistled once more still waiting. The fillies had been put in a large pasture rather then a small one then so Aly just guessed they had to run from the other end of the pasture to her. Sighing, Aly stood by the partially open gate and folded her arms.... Waiting......

The two fillies heard the clicking of a gate in the pasture next to them, and saw a chestnut mare who had befriend them trot gracefully down to see them. Lacey whinnied a "hello" to the mare before bending her head to graze. But then a whistle sounded and entered her fuzzy ears. Lacey's mostly black head raised swiftly to hear the whistle come again. Her brain was working as she connected the sound to Aly. With a squeal of delight and a slight buck too, the Gypsy Vanner yearling picked up a gallop with her neck flattened out as the human came into view. Mia at first thought that Lacey was simply mad, but then she too connected the sound to her owner and cantered a little more slowly after her friend.
It seemed like Lacey wouldn't stop and she would trample Aly, but she did stop with only a foot to spare. Mia on the other hand was more calm and collected as she down-shifted from canter to trot, then to walk, and finally halted beside her more energetic friend. The Thoroughbred cross lowered her head to graze by the feet of the human, while Lacey nudged Aly to see what they would do today.

Aly laughed out loud when she heard the squeal of Lacey. Smiling, Aly watched the filly come into view. Smiling at the gypsy vanner yearling, Aly gave the filly a rub on er neck. "Hey girl." Aly said before clipping the purple lead to the purple halter on Lacey. "I'll be back for you Mia." Aly said before swinging the gate open and leading Lacey through. "Swing.' Aly said to Lacey as she pulled the mare in a circle and the mare swung. Aly locked the gate up and then turned to the filly. "Let's go.' Aly said leading the filly into the barn. Today was going to be a lesson day. Aly was going to ride Lacey. Lacey was always before Mia. Mainly because if Aly rode Mia first, she wouldn't have any energy to ride Lacey. Walking the filly to a the, Aly tied her up in the stable isle and rubbed her. "Good girl." Aly said smiling before going to grab a brush. (She is not in the cross ties. Just a tie up)

The filly lowered her head obediantly as the lead rope was attached to her halter. Aly had found the spot she liked to have rubbed or scratched the most: right on the crest of her neck. That was where it got sore the most, so when humans touched it, Lacey always became a little more submissive. She had no idea what the word Aly spoke was, but swung her hind end around to avoid being smacked with the cold metal gate. One of the careless little boys who helped out every once and a while and done that to Lacey, and now she was very careful about it.
The black and white horse was very anxious to get to the barn, and restrained from prancing about. She had ben reprimanded before for doing that, and smacked on the shoulder. It had stung, so now she didn't anymore, scared that her shoulder would start stinging again. Overall, if you told her not to do something once, you know she wouldn't do it again. Lacey stood still as she was tied up, but nipped at the brush once before allowing Aly to brush her. She just wanted to make sure the brush wouldn't hurt her before it was allowed on her back. Aly laughed at the filly when she nipped at the brush. "Good girl." Aly spoke before running the brush over the fillies black/white paint coat. After finising that up, Aly reached down and picked up each hoof and cleaned it out. Once cleaning each hoof, Aly grabbed a soft face brush and brushed the fillies face off. Once the filly was glistening, Aly walked back into the takc room and got a saddle, bridle and saddle pad along with 4 purple leg wraps. Setting the pad on the fillies back after letting her smell it, Aly rubbed the filly. Aly then let the filly smell the english saddle before placing that on her back. Aly grabbed the cinc, pulled it up and easily put pressure on te filly's stomach as the cinch was tightened. Aly made sure it wasn't to tight before securing the saddle completely. Once the saddle was secured to the GV filly, Aly walked to ehr head and slipped the bit into ehr mouth and pulled the headset over the fillies head and secured all the starps on that. Once the filly was tacked up, Aly wraped each leg and gave the filly two carrots. 'Good girl." Aly unclipped the filly's lead rope from the halter and secured her helmet on before heading for the arena.

She lifted each hoof obediantly, leaning into Aly slightly. Lacey was still finding her sense of balance, which made this task a little more interesting than it should be. When the saddle pad was presented to her, she sniffed it and even nudged it, seeing if it would move. Finding it quite lifeless and harmless, she didn't even flinch when Aly laid it on her back. The saddle took a little more inspection on her part. She twisted her head to look under it and the flaps, licking the stirup iron slightly before tossing her head at the most disgusting taste. She figured it was all right as well, but the weight spooked her slightly as she slammed into reverse and then put it in forward before finding that it wasn't causing her any pain. So a little more humble, she just looked at Aly when she put the girth on. Lacey did not like the taste of the bit at all, but reluctantly opened her mouth, giving the bit just barely enough room to enter her mouth. The straps she was fine with as well as the leg wrapping, so besides the small saddle issue, Lacey was pretty good and followed Aly out to the arena.
