Lacey
I trotted around the box I was in. It was quite comfortable. The stuff on the ground was nice and soft to lay on and it didn't hurt my feet. The big grass they fed me was quite tastey, and so was the seed looking stuff. Plus, there was always water in my bucket. It was a pretty good place for me!
But I was rather lonely. I poked my head above the rope the humans had put across the opening in the box so I could see better. There were people walking by, but not the two-legger who had found me in that field where my mommy was taken by another one. That person was nice, and I liked her. So I opened my small mouth and screamed loudly for her. People turned their heads, but I didn't see her face.

Aly was glad that she found another little project. It sure was little and a bundle of joy. Her name was Lacey. Aly walked into the barn smiling and saying hi to her workers and what so. Making her way over to the first stall she grinend happily. "Hey ltitle girl." Aly said to the little filly before entering the stall. She held her out of with a little bit of grain in it to see if the filly would take some. Rubbing the fillies neck with her other hand, Aly talked to te filly. "You're such a good girl Lacey. I'm going to get a friend for you soon. Okay honey." Aly had really become attatced to the little filly. She was really pretty and spunky. very sweet adn friendly. Aly really liked that. She was a little surprise on how nice the filly was after being left in that field. Aly just wished she could've found the mother too. Then it would've been a little easier on the little filly. That was for sure.

I was delighted to see the human who had taken me to this comfortable home. And even better, she had that seedy stuff that tasted delicious, and gave me extra energy too. I used my velvety lips to gather it into my mouth, maybe accidentally grazing my small teeth upon the human's hand. I didn't mean to, though. With my nose, I nudged her for more, before spinning around excitedly. I really wanted to learn what she wanted me to learn, but even more I wanted to know what her strange words meant. Our languages were so different! Maybe someday I would begin to understand a little bit of it, because I had a feeling she would want me to.

Aly laughed at the filly before smiling at her. " Silly girl." Aly kept laughing then calmed herself down a bit. Walking over to the stall entrance, Aly grabbed a small green foal halter and walked back over to the filly. Aly let her smell the halter and lead rope before gentle placing the lead rope around the filly's neck. After that and after the filly was calm, Aly took the halter and slipped the fillies nose in and a few seconds later was buckling the strap around her head to secure the halter. After that, Aly rubbed the fillies neck again and then gathered up the small lead rope and began walking waiting to see if the filly would follow. Reaching the stall entrance, Aly undid the bumper ties and then walked out halting a few steps later waiting for the filly to follow her.

I heard the human's funny sounds. I must've not been bad or anything, so I was quite pleased with myself. As the girl took a grass-colored object and held it in front of me, I became a little scared. I took a step back, then tentatively reached my nose out to smell it. The thing didn't seem dangerous, so I just stood very tensely as she put the rope over my back and put the straps on my head. It didn't hurt and it didn't move unless I moved. A little nervous, I tossed my head to see what would happen. The straps stayed on, but they didn't hurt. So they were ok by me. I didn't see the point of them, but I had a lot to learn yet, right? The female who took me from the field undid the rope on the entrance to my box and walked out. The rope attached to the straps on my head seemed to grow, so at first I stayed put. It looked like a scarey snake! I tossed my head and reared up a little bit, trying to shake it off. But once again, it didn't hurt, and the person didn't seem like she would put me in danger. So instead of bracing my haunches to try to stay still, I trotted quickly to the safety of her side and snorted.

Once again Aly gave a soft chuckle at the filly. She sure had a little sense of humor. "Good girl. See, I won't hurt you." Reaching out with another little bit of grain, Aly held it for the filly to eat. Once the grain was gone, Aly kept walking on the filly following. Hopefully. Once they kept walking, Aly halted the filly at the barn entrance. There were a few other horses going by and a trailer nearby. Aly smiled and took a deep breath and then looked at the filly. It was bright outside and warm. With a small light breeze to it. Ten, a smaller truck and trailer pulled up. Yes! The other filly was here finally. Aly kept walking on very slowly letting the filly follow and if any hesitation, Aly had the patience to wait for the filly to get settled and moving on. Aly didn't hurt the filly at all. She wanted to filly to be good and not scared of her at all. Finally walking over to the trailer, Aly said something to another girl and that girl soon disappeared. That same girl reappeared with another little filly the same size as Lacey. Aly smiled and held onto the lead rope real tight, just in case if Lacey wanted to go crazy in sight of another filly and foal to have as a playmate. The other fillies name was Mia. Mia was a Friesian Thoroughbred cross and pure black. She whinnied real loud in sight of the other filly and starting circling her handler trying to get to the other filly. Aly just laughed." I ate the tastey food out of my owner's hand and happily kept walking. My head was always right next to her leg or even a little ahead. If she would turn, it woud suprise me, but I would keep right on going. It wasn't hard at all, so I was proud of myself for learning this small task. Then, a big machine came rumbling up the path we had taken here. It scared me a little so I whinnied and reared up on my back legs. It wasn't very menacing, just my way of saying 'I'm scared!' But then the roaring noises stopped and out came a black filly, just my size! I whinnied now because I was happy, and bounced around, forgetting my recent training. I wanted to go over and meet the new filly and find out what her name was. But when I pulled, it hurt my nose a little so I stopped and waited until the little filly came my way. I reached my nose out to her in greeting, hoping she liked me.

Aly smiled at Lacey's reaction. "Easy girl, Easy now." Aly spoke to the Vanner filly smiling still. Aly pulled a tad on the lead and smiled. "Wait.' Aly waited until the other girl got Mia settled down. Mia finally stopped circling and just stopped dead cold in her track. Reaching her nose out to Lacey, she squealed and struck out with her hoof then pulled her head in real quick. She repeated it two more times. The fourth time, she reached her nose out and blew softly before walking closer and pushing her muzzle against the fillies neck and nickering in greetings. "Okay." Aly said letting Lacey have her lead and more space. Aly let the two fillies greet together before pulling Lacey back and circling her. The other girl pulled Mia to her side and hung on tight. Aly began walking to wards and small pasture area and halted at the gate. The other girl had Mia who was being snobby and acting like a stud on the lead. Pulling and yanking and rearing and kicking. She wanted to go. "Good girl." Aly said to Lacey who behaved well. Aly opened the gate up and lead Lacey in. The other girl and filly followed in. Aly looked to the other girl and nodded. "Okay, let 'em go." Aly said unclasping the lead from Lacey's halter and the other girl unclipped the lead from Mia's halter. Both Aly and the other girl shooed the fillies off and they both walked over to the gate and locked it. They climbed up on the fence and watched the two fillies. Mia took off once the pressure was release and she tore around the small pasture running as fast as her little legs would let her. She would trip ever once in a while but gather herself right back up and took off. She bucked and kicked as she ran along the fence and then started to slow for a while. halting after about 5 minutes to take a bite of grass then off she went. Over and over she repeated the same process. (lol)

I tossed my head and pulled away as the other filly struck at me. In return, I squealed as well. But I let her paw at me until she settled down and we became friends. My long spindly legs were shaking with excitement. I couldn't wait to play with this new horse! She was awfully pretty too, all black and such. I embraced the lengthening of the rope and positioned myself next to the filly for our walk to wherever we were going. I playfully nipped at my friend, telling her to be quiet because we get treats that way. Then out before us was a wide field with a fence around it. It seemed like we would get to run about in there! It was a lot of space. I felt the straps loosening, but they stayed on. Oh well. When the opening was closed behind Mia and I, it felt like we were being told to go off. So I took off, nearly stumbling, and raced the black foal across the field. My legs were a little stronger than hers because my mommy was so well-muscled, but she had more speed. This made me want to win our race even more. I squealed and bucked in happyness and took Mia's cue for a break. I spread my legs out and bent my head down to eat the grass. It tasted better than eveer. I dashed across the field after Mia, enjoying the play-time together. Out of my right eye I saw the two humans sitting on the fence, watching us. Hopefully we weren't in trouble.

Mia
Mia took off still running letting Lacey follow her. Her long black legs stretched out and she gained alittle mroe speed flying past the fence all the way around the pasture and then back to the middle. She slowed down her legs in front pushing against her speed force as she finally slowed her legs pusing against the force of her body. Finally in a trot, Mia stopped dead cold almost falling over. She nickered happily and bent over her head reaching the ground without spreading or bending her legs. She took a nibble of grass before her head shot straight up in the air and she nickered real high pitched her whole body shaking as she did so.
Aly
Aly laughed at the two fillies watching them both run as fast as they can around the pasture. They weren't that fast because of their age but still they had speed. Aly laughed as the two got along and kept running finally stopping in the middle of the pasture. Aly began talking to the girl next to her before turning her attention back to the fillies. Aly whistled and jumped down from the fence. She kept whistling and saying,"Come on girls!" She shouted to wards the fillies waiting for them to come in.

I followed my new friend, going as fast as I was able. But I didn't see that she stopped, and I really did tumble over! Quickly I scrambled up, my agile legs helping quite a bit. I looked at Mia, waiting to see what she would do next. The high-pitched nicker hit my ears quickly, and I reared up, thrashing my front legs and joined in the sound. I had to land and bounce back up. Then I stopped neighing, hearing my owner's strange words. She was motioning to the opening in the fenced in field, so I reared up once more and then took off, barely slowing down in time to have the rope put on the straps on my head. I snorted. It was fun, but it also was tiring!

Mia
Mia heard her new owner make some sort of noise. She looked up and over to her owner and noticed she wanted them to go near her. Mia grabbed once last mouthful of grass before picking her head up and taking off as fast as her legs could carry her to her owners side. Finally reaching her owner of which seemed like forever, Mia skidded to a dead cold halt. Nickering and rearing up from the instant pressure of slowing down, Mia kicked out in excitement and thanks to having this time to run around with her new friend.
Aly
Aly didn't have to wait long before the two fillies were at her side and in front of her. Picking up the lead rope to Lacey's halter, Aly made her way over to her filly clasping the rope onto the halter. Turning around looking at the other girl who was clipping the lead to the black filly Mia, Aly began to walk on Lacey followed her as the four of them exited the pasture and head for the stalls. Entering the barn, Aly motioned for the other girl to follow her into the first stall on their right. Aly circled Lacey around in the stall(which was combined with the second one now. Twice as big), and unclasped the halter from the fillies head and quickly scrambled out of the stall as the other girl did the same with Lacey. Once the fillies were loose, Aly shut the stall door and locked it. Paying the girl for her help, the girl took off and Aly entered the stall closing the door behind her. Aly walked to the back of the stalls and pushed open the doors for the runways. First doing the first runway and then the next one. Both doors were open to the two runways. Mia scrambled out of the stall after being let loose and she jumped down into the runway area. Aly laughed before exiting the stall and locking the door, watching the fillies.

Because I was tired, I was very good on our walk back to the big box filled with little ones. Mia was still excited, and I nudged her to be quiet. We had to be good so we could get some more treats. I entered my box quietly, but as soon as the rope was off my head I gleefully spun around and gulped down some water from the tub-thing. Little drops of water clung to the hair on my muzzle, and then I looked to my right and saw Mia dash out another entrance to the box that had just been created. I whinnied in delight and trotted briskly down the chute. Our boxes had been combined to make one big box, just like our own mini-fields had been meshed together as well. I playfully kicked and bucked, loving all the freedom I was getting, just for walking around a little bit. Glancing over my shoulder, I made sure the entrance to our boxes were still there. Seeing that they were, I squealed again and then settled down, wanting to fill my tummy with the delicious green grass.
