It was her first day of work at the prestegious Shadow Mountain Rescue Stable. This stable had done great things with horses and was much more famous than her own stable. But Amber liked the peace and quiet there much better than a constant flow of "traffic" through her stable isles. Anyways, she needed extra money, and went off in her sky blue SUV to SMRE.
She arrived quickly and found the private barn, the only stable with horses. Amber saw the two fillies were out in the pasture with Aly watching them, so she moved onto Emmy, the mare. She found a note saying that she had colicked recently, so she made a note to add some vegetable oil to the horse's grain after her grooming. The teen grabbed a curry comb to lift the dirt from the horse's chestnut coat. There wasn't much at all, so soon it was on to the stiff brush to get the dust out. Like most horses this time of year, Emmy was very dusty. Amber laughed as it flew up in clouds to her eyes. The mare snorted as well, and the girl patted the horse before finishing the grooming with a soft brush to sweep it all away onto the stall floor. Nearly forgetting to pick the horse's hooves, Amber did that before preparing dinner for the Hanoverian.
In the feed room, the girl found a bottle of vegetable oil and added a drizzle to the mare's small amount of grain that she would get due to the colic she had recently experienced. Because it hadn't been severe and she was fully recovered (just on stall rest), she would still get some grain. Once the grain was prepared, Amber poured it out of the scoop and into the horse's grain buckett. Then she entered the stall with two flakes of hay and set it down in a corner. Before she left, Amber unlocked the door to Emmy's runway and secured it open. She went out to check the fence, and finding it in working order said good-bye to the mare and was off.
