It was cold and a little chilly, so the female trainer pulled her stable jacket around her chest and zipped it up. It was around 60 degreesa out. Maybe just a tad more. Aly walked into the barn going straight to the first stall. "Lacey." Aly said grabbing the fillies pink halter. Opening the stall door, se shooed Mia away and waited for Lacey. Once Lacey came, Aly showed the filly the halter and then slipped it up and over her head. After that Aly lead the filly out of the stall, circled her and then latched the door shut behind her.
Walking the filly to the round pen, Aly unlatched the gate door and lead the filly in circling her then shuting the gate closed. Aly took the leadr ope off her halter and then let the filly roam around for a bit. After about 5 minutes, Aly made ehr way to the center of the round pen. Turning to Lacey she clicked her tongue, Holding out her hand with a little treat in it she whistled. "Come on." She said whistling once more. Today Lacey would learn what to come to Aly on. A whistle. Aly held a treat in the end of her palm and whistled a little more waiting for lacey to come to wards her.

The filly was busy having some hay in her stall with Mia next to her. She was settling in nicely to life around here. She had good food, a good friend, and space to run around in freedom. Then she heard her owner's call. Lacey stood still, wondering why she was holding up the halter. It's not like it was new to her or anything. But she shrugged off the thought and walked up, wondering what they were going to do that day. She stood very patiently as the halter and lead were fastened and walked outside the stall without hesitation. A little confused as she was circled, Lacey whinnied, but continued on outside.
She entered the pen a little hesitantly, but she trusted Aly enough to figure it was ok. Then she took the freedom of the lead being removed and cantered around the pen quite contently, throwing in a buck or two. She heard a whistle, but kept going. Then she glanced to Aly who was standing in the center, and saw a treat in her hand. Happily she went and grabbed it, then trotted away, enjoying the apple flavored treat.

Aly watched the filly hesitate a little at the beginning. Aly just grinned. Aly turned watching the filly canter around the pen, lap after lap, laughnig whenever she nickered or threw in a buck. Aly giggled and smiled. "Go on." Aly said waving her arms a little to get the filly to go on freely again.
After a lap or two around the pen, Aly repeated the same process. Holding out ehr hand with a treat Aly gave a soft wwhistle. The thing she did different was that she didn't say come on. Wistling again when the filly didn't come for the first time, Aly tried to get the fillies attention. Once it was got, Aly whistled once more waiting to see if the filly would come to her. [[it's fine]]
The filly now just trotted around, enjoying the feeling of stretching her legs out and extending them nicely. All the "rust" in her joints was worked off, and now she was trotting like a well-oiled machine. She stopped at the first whistle and raised her head, looking to Aly. She stood for the second whistle, now registering that it was coming from the human. She snorted and tossed her head, but saw the treat and pranced lightly over to her. This time she took the treat, but didn't dash off right away. She held her ground and looked up at the human, wondering if they were doing anything now that she was there. A little bored, the filly pawed and snorted. She was developing a short attention span, but that happened to quite a few good horses.

Aly smiled at the filly and let her lick up the treat. Aly waited a little before rubbing the filly's head. "Good girl. Now let's try it wothout a treat." Aly smiled rubbing the fillies neck once more. Aly lifted up her hand and shooed the filly off. "Go on." Aly said as she waited for the filly to start running about again. Once the filly bolted off and started trotting Aly grinned. After about three laps, Aly did the process over again.
Whistle. Aly's whistle was louder this time. Waiting for the filly to turn her attention Aly stood in the center. Once the filly looked, Aly whistled once more. She had no treat in her hand. Both hands were at her side, Aly just waited. Whistling once last time, Aly hoped the filly would come to her. It was what the lesson was about. "Come on." Aly said. She used the same whistle and words she would if the filly were out in the pasture and Aly had to take them in. She'd whistle and say' Come on'. Then Aly had t trust the horses to come in when called. If they didn't and they knew they were to, Aly would have to go out and get them. Then, they'd be punished for not coming.

She was happy with herself as Aly rubbed her neck. Lacey tossed her head in content, but left when the girl flapped her hands at the filly. She galloped around, but soon slowed to a trot. She heard that whistle again; it was becoming familiar in her ears. The Gypsy Vanner foal pranced over quite readily now, but saw no treat. She was a little dissappointed, but she was probably learning something. It was now critical to her to please Aly. The girl seemed nice and protective, and the filly had lost that figure in her life after her mom was taken away.

Aly grinned as she filly stopped and came her way. Aly smiled and laughed a bit. "Not reat this time girl. You learned something. Now, just remember this."Aly said smiling once more before scratching the fillies neck a bit harder and longer this time. Aly hoped the filly enjoyed the attention, because when she got a year old, there wasn't much left to give. Aly clipped the lead line on the fillies halter and walked to the gate. Giving the filly another treat Aly grinned. Unlocking the gate, Aly pushed it open adn lead the filly out. Turnnig the filly, Aly locked the gate and headed for the stables. Aly had Max on her mind. She wondered where he was. She didn't think he'd seen Lacey adn Mia yet. She knew he'd like Lacey though. Lacey was Aly's baby for now. Mia wasn't her favorite, Lacey was.

She squealed in joy, happy that Aly was proud of her. At least, it felt like she was. Lacey hoped that she would always be this pleasing for her. Once again, the human spoke, and the filly hoped that one day she'd be able to understand it a little bit. She also hoped she'd never leave Aly's heart. So quite eagerly, she followed her owner out of the round pen and back to her stall to see Mia.
[[sorry it's so short, it won't happen again]]
