The black truck rumbled up and halted behind the sales barn. Aly turned the key off after parking and pulled it from the ignition. Putting the emergency brake on, Aly unlocked the doors, slipped her seatbelt off and slid from the seat. Closing the door behind her, Aly grabbed her wallet and truck key, putting both into one of her jeans pocket. After that, she walked around to the other side waiting for Max. Once Max got out Aly grinned. "Here we are. Follow me." Aly said a little excitement in her voice.
Aly began to walk to wards the sales barn entrance. It was a huge barn place. It had a huge arena and slots for each of the horses to go into and stay while they were auctioned and sold off. Aly grabbed a card and read the number. #33. That was good enough. Also grabbing a forum, Aly began walking to the seat. taking a seat in the front row, She grinned and opened the forum up. Looking down at the five horses then the forum for the stats. She wondered what horse Max liked. "Any interesting?" She asked him eying his face real quickly.

He glanced over the stats. Numbers 2, 3, and 4. I like number 2 the best though. Looks young, nice looking and looks like he could be a good mover. Number three looks ok but it doesn't look like she's done anything really impressive yet and number four is a jumper which is always a plus with me. I'm not a big fan of Appendix horses or Fresians for that matter. He said and shrugged. All the horses looked good he was just picky.
He glanced around at the other people around him trying to judge how much people here would put out for the horses, after all he was always up for a new project and one of the three horses he liked could very well turn into that next project.
Settling into the seat he studied the horses a bit more his face and eyes giving nothing away about which horse he liked best, a "poker" face he'd learned from his mother at auctions. His father hadn't been allowed to be after a while... he just couldn't resist showing the world which horse he liked best.

Aly listened to his answer. Really taking in what he tought. "well, I wanted you to help me pick one out for the stable. I'm also gonna get one for myself. I need another orse to ride." Aly giggled a tad before turning her attention back to the form about the horses. Looking over the stats she grinned. She really liked a horse. She was pretty sure she was gonig to get that horse to.
Aly looked around at all the other people that were arriving. Aly watched on how many people were there. There were quite a bit. But only about three-quarters had a number. That meant people were there for inspection of horses. Plus, those people take down the gender, new owners name aan breed. Sometimes they'll recomend their clients to your horse for breeding or for bargain. That had happened to Aly with Emmy. Aly didn't dare sell nor breed her though. Emmy was her girl.

The eighteen year old girl pulled up in her soft green pick-up truck with a white trailer in tow. She was hoping to get one or two more horses for her rescue. Mostly for riding purposes, but also so that the rescues would have pasture buddies to make friends with. She exited the cabin of the truck and pulled at her soft pink polo and black breeches. She had just come from riding Thomas in the fields. Amber made sure her check book was still in her bag as well as her cell and other things before heading off to the ring.
Right away a gorgeous dapple gray gelding caught her eye. He was a great mover as he was led around the pen. Amber checked his statistic card that said he was a Holsteiner, but didn't give much other information besides he was a jumper, show jumping and cross country. She nodded, for he seemed a little too bulky for dressage. Or maybe he was still being finished for eventing... there were a lot of possibilities. But she decided he seemed quite friendly as he pricked his ears and gazed at her, straining on the lead rope to get a look at her. With a smile, she decided she would place a bid on him.
A bay mare running about in her own paddock caught Amber's eye as well. "Whoa, easy girl," she called. She looked rather stir-crazy. Maybe she would be a good project.... Well, time to get a seat. So Amber found an empty chair and got a number for the bidding.

I might as well buy something myself while I'm here. I need a new horse to train anyways since Treason is getting older and I don't want to be stuck for a new horse when he retires. He said eying the Trakehner colt. He looked good, a bit of trainer and he'd probably be a good jumper and he had the looks for the dressage ring. Matt had no doubt he could have the colt ready for three-day events before Trea retired to be a stud.
The Warmblood mare was nice but not for him. He needed something a bit younger to play with. He wanted that colt and with all the money in his account he was going to get him no matter what... well unless the what meant giving up Treason or a free breeding to him. No horse was worth that.

"You sould buy something. You better go for it now. The next auction isn't until another month." Aly said turning to smile at Max. He was kinda cute. Though yet he'd shown no, absolutely none, affection or interest in her. Darn! Aly was really looking for her furture husband. That was for sure. Aly turned to watched the horses. She didn't like the Appendix mare. Once because she wasn't very clean according to the other horses and she looked overweight. So she was out. Then the Trakehner colt. He looked to young. Maybe just a two year old. Plus, he was very fiesty.
Then it was the Warmblood mare. She was okay but she also looked on the chunky side and she was to calm. It was like she didn't care for anything. She looked about 6 years but also looked like she was a green horse. Not a lot of work done. There was not a lot of muscle on her body. The next was the Holsteiner gelding. That was a nice horse. The only bad thing it was a gelding. Looked about 6 years and around 16 hands. Very nice with beautiful coloring. It looked the right weight about but he looked rusted. By that he hadn't been ridden in a while. Aly would consider that one for the barn. Maybe. The last horse. The last horse really caught Aly's attention. he was bold, sleek adn slender. Muscle was all he had. Around 17 hands. very massive with beautiful flowing movements. Long strides and built very well. he was beautiful. A stallion too. Aly watched the stag romp around his section. he was outstanding. That was the horse Aly wanted for her. Her and her only. "What do you think of the Holsteiner gelding for the barn?" Aly asked, turning to Max waiting for a reply.

He'd be alright if you're thinking for a kid. An advanced rider could probably work with him and take him in the show ring some but I wouldn't know much unless I rode him myself. He's got a nice form, needs a bit of a diet change and regular work outs from where I'm sitting but hey that's just me. Max said and smiled slightly. Stretching his legs out in front of him and letting his arms rest on the back of the seats beside him, only slightly aware that his hand had brushed Aly's shoulder when he'd moved.
The mare looks like she could use some work as well, probably wouldn't be a bad breeding prospect in the future. He said eyes once again flicking over the horses. The Appendix would be a good project even if it is just to get her to a place where you can sell her to a kid or something along those lines, the colt... well lets just say I want that horse for myself. I doubt he'll ever be as good as Treason but I need a project other than helping you train. He said and smiled at her again. Taking notice of how cute she was before turning his eyes back to the ring.
The Fresian... he looks like a nice horse. Probably a nice horse in the show ring but not my type. He said shrugging slightly, his arm brushing her shoulders gently as he lifted it up and ran his hand though his still damp hair.

"Well, from what is says here in the forum, it says intermediate/advanced rider only. Suppoively he gets head strong and a little younger acting. I tink e'd be a good horse. e does have an excellent form though and I agree on the diet. He seems to be quite fit to just a tad rusty though." Aly smiled after giving her opinion on the gelding. "So, what horse should we buy as another farm horse for all the people to ride." Aly smiled when his hand brushed her shoulder. Her cheeks got a tad red as well. Turning to smile at Max, she turned back to look at the horses.
" The mare looks like she's green. Like she more of a relaxed filly with no common sense of why she's here. To me, I think she'd be a waste of time." Aly looked from horse to horse then glanced at the Appendix. " I agree, she definantly a kids horse. Very relaxed care free. Knows all the basics. I don't think she'd be a big jumper for intermediate riders. Maybe but definantly not advaned. She'd be a nice little lesson horse..... He definantly has some spunk and he seemed hard head and dumbfounded." Aly cuckled a bit smiling at Max then back to the colt. Atleast she gave her true honest opinion on horse. She was quite picky.
"Now me, I love the Friesian. He's very well looking and has that feiry attitude. As if saying I'm king of the hill and what so. I'm going for him. he'll be a nice horse for me like Emmy. I hope so." Aly giggled a bit before turning to look at Max one last time then back to the horses. Her face got red once again as his harm brushed her shoulder. She didn't look at him she just blushed.......
The announcer tapped the speaker phone adn talked. "Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the spring mini auction sale! Thank you all for coming. We will get the bidding started right now. Okay, for the first horse. A bay Appendix mare. Around 15 hands and a nice little horse. Let's start at $5,000?...." The announcer replied as he looked around the audience looking for a bidder. If no one were to bid on the mare, she would be held off and sold later on that day most likely for a cheaper price.

The grey colt is mine but I think the gelding would do good as a lesson horse after some training from one of us. I'm offering to do it if you get him for the farm. He said whispering in her ear then settling back into his chair, his arm one again around the back of her chair. Max didn't get flustered and he didn't forget where he was, what he was saying when he was interested in someone, he was a pretty straight forwards guy.... after you got to know him.
As the bidding started he watched the horse. If he had kids, which he wanted someday, he would buy her but for the moment he wasn't the right owner for her and he didn't want her. Even if he bought her and trained her to sell it wouldn't work out for him. He needed a horse he should show and show off, a striking horse like that grey colt, or the grey gelding but he wanted the young colt more.

Aly let Max put his arm around the back on her chair. Her cheeks got back to her normal color, as for she got used to it. "You'd have to put in twenty five percent of the purchase though." Aly replied looking at Max. She was talking about the gelding. Should they get him or not. They'd decide that later on. Aly watched bidders think about the mare. So far, no bids on her. Aly thought about it, but no. As she sat there, she though about Max. What if they were to get married. And have kids. Nah,... probablly wouldn't happen.
Looking and focusing on the mare, Aly tought about it. Five thousand was quite a bit. Way to much then what Aly would spend on the mare. Aly would only get her if she knew she were to have kids in a year or two, but that was unlikely. So she decided not to bid. The mare was to juvenille. To much for little kids. She knew basics and that was all. That was all lesson horses needed to know. So basically, Aly could guess the mare was a lesson horse before going to the auction.

Done. He said watching as the mare was led from the ring and he leaned forwards in his seat, his elbows on his knees as he waited for the bidding to begin on the colt. The horse strode into the ring, a little proud for Max but then again he wasn't as proud as Treason was when he stepped into a ring. Treason was just a clown with how much he thought he was royalty.
Maybe he should ask Aly out sometime. For dinner or drinks or something. Just to talk about the farm and training. Or maybe that was just a cover up idea. Didn't really matter. He wasn't a kid anymore, hadn't been for years but he wasn't sure if he would do well in a relationship. Max ran when it came to commitment to anything but a horse, more so he couldn't deal with all the badgering to not spend every waking moment doing something dealing with horses.
His parents had been lucky, both professional riders and trainers. He'd actually been an accident but hey, they loved their son and they'd taught him everything they could about horses and riding.

Aly watched the mare being lead out of the rink after no success of bids. " Piece of crap.' Aly said as she whispered into Max's ear. Pulling away after telling Max that, she turned her attention to the colt. This was gonig to be fun to watc. Max bidding on the colt. Aly watched as a handler stepped in with the colt and snapped a leadline of the colts halter before leading him out and around the arena for the bidders to get a better look. "Lost of spunk." Aly said smiling at Max then looking down to the colt. She wondered how much the colt was going to get bidded on. it was gonig to be fun to watch how high the price got.
Aly turned to Max glaring at him before he turned to smile at her. That's when she pulled away and watched the horses again. her cheeks got a tad red. The announcer tapped his mic. " Next up we have a Trakehner colt. Dark grey and will messure to be around 16.1 hands. Let's start at $5,000?" The announcer said as his eyes looked from one end to the other end of the people in the audience ready to bid. "We have $5,000, Now $6,000. Any more?" He asked pointing to the crowd waiting for another bidder....

She glanced around nervously; she was never very good with bidding. But when the bay mare was first, she opened her mouth to shout, but was too slow. The bay mare walked out with no bids. She frowned; the mare looked to have a good conformation. Oh well, that meant she would get her cheaper that day before she left. Now to focus on the dapple gelding. Him, or that chestnut mare who seemed extremely sweet and calm in her paddock. It was hard for Amber to choose, so she would decide when they came up. In the corner of her eye, she saw Aly, her employer. She smiled, but wasn't sure if she was seen.

Max nodded shortly and caught the announcers attention. Hearing his bid called out. I'd better get him, if I don't someones gonna pay. He thought and smiled slightly. Him? Big macho man? Naw. He'd just find another horse to waste his time on and bring to perfection. Perfection? Yeah right. As close as I can get anyways. He thought watching the bidding and making his own bids, determined to get the colt.
It was his competivie side that was starting to show. The side that had made him a popular rider back home even riding for people who didn't want to ride just wanted to own horses that were extremely nice and extremely amazing when in the show ring.

Aly turned to Max and smiled. She really liked him. Scooting closer to him, she yawned. This was a little tireing so Aly let her head fall to the side Max was on. Her left side. Her head wasn't actually leaning on him, but she wanted it to. He'd have to make that move, not her. Aly watched the bidders raise their paddles. She grinned at the colt who circled his handler wanting to run and get loose in a pasture or what so. Aly hoped Max got the horse. he sure was a nice little horse but two young for Aly at that time. Maybe in a month or two she'd be ready for a youngster.
The announcer called out. "We have seventy five hundred. Any more offers. Going Once..." The annoncer said. Max's turn was up to bid. The announcer looked around waiting for another bidder. Currently the high bidder was a chinese man. Aly had seen him somewhere, she just couldn't remember where. Oh yeah, he was at the racetrack that day Aly went with ehr dad. That guy sure had a lot of money. Aly had seen him with a bunch of money that day. It was like $100,000 all in is hand. Crazy, crazy, crazy!

Max bid again quickly he wasn't letting the colt get away from him that easily. He moved back slightly not realizing Aly's head was there and smiled slightly. Slipping down in his seat so her head would be resting on his shoulder. Comfy? He asked softly, eyes never leaving the colt in the ring. He was going to get that horse. He had to. He'd probably sell him off in a few years but by then the horse would be worth more than what Max was paying.
The colt had promise and Max was going to take full advantage of that even if it killed him. C`mon, c`mon. Going going gone. Hurry up already. He thought his arms crossed against his chest.

Aly smiled up at Max and then rested her head on is shoulder. "better." She said back to him not looking at him but the Friesian stud. Aly watched the colt act up a bit then settle back down. The colt sure knew how to find attraction in the crowd. That was for sure. Aly knew that Max was determined to get the colt. She was pretty sure he was gonig to get the colt. Aly felt him cross his arms. She knew he was getting nervous so she didn't bother to say anything. Aly was just happy that he was allowing her to do that. She had major feelings for him. She just needed to get to know him a bit better. Then she'd be addicted.
The announcer looked around. "Going once, twice...." Pause."Sold." The announcer said as the colt was led out of the ring. The colt went off at $8,000 to Max. Aly looked up and smiled. She was glad Max got the horse. Real happy about that. Now, she jsut had to wait after the chestnut mare before she could start bidding herself.

He sighed and uncrossed his arms letting one drape across her shoulders. Thank god. I was starting to wonder just how much money I'd be spending today. He muttered though he was still smiling. At least the colt was his now. He couldn't wait to start working with him.
The mare? He asked Alyce glancing down at her his blue eyes questioning. He liked her, a lot. The question was, could he admit it to himself? Or at all? Maybe with time. He was pretty cautious when it came to making friends or dating, he didn't want to get hurt like his friends in high school had. Throwing themselves at the first person they saw when they broke up with someone.

Aly smiled as he put his arm across her shoulder. It felt warming. Aly was glad that Max got the colt. Finally, he would stop begging her about it. Nah...She was just joking, he never begged her about it. She was just glad. "I'm happy for you." Smiling as she looked up into his eyes. Looking back down at the horses she watched the mare. " To novice." Aly responded. Giggling a tad to herself then looking back at the horses.
Aly watched him glance into her eyes. All she could do was smile. Looking at his eyes, she changed her stare and looked at his lips, then back to his eyes. Back a forth just a few more times before ending at his eyes. Aly giggled. Man, if she could get just one kiss from him, maybe, just maybe it wouldn't be that bad. Aly looked back to the horses, still leaning on his shoulder. She liked it a lot. The comfyness and the warmth he'd given her. e was just hot. HOT, HOT, HOT!
